This is the work of a lifetime.
Gabriel grew up alongside Francesca and her dachshunds: at home, in the garden and on the way to shows. Today they continue that work together, with the familiarity that comes from living with the dogs every day.
The dogs are part of the family’s every day. Puppies are born and raised in the family home. Their first experiences are its voices, rooms and routines, before they become part of another family’s life. Gabriel carries the Wanhelsing name tattooed on his forearm — a personal expression of the place these dogs have in his life.

Our approach to breeding
La selezione
We plan each pairing with attention to conformation, temperament, family history and the health information available for the dogs. Francesca’s ideal continues to guide the work: a dachshund with balanced proportions and the character to take its place in family life.

The shows are one day in a hundred. The other ninety-nine are these: old logs to climb, hedges to patrol, long grass at evening, and a kitchen where every litter grows up underfoot — in company from its first days.

L’affidamento
A puppy here is never simply sold. It is entrusted — with care and responsibility on both sides.
We begin by getting to know you: the people at home, your daily routine and what you hope for in a dachshund. In turn, we introduce our dogs and explain how we raise them. Together, we consider which puppy may be the right companion.

We talk, answer your questions and arrange a visit.
Preparing for arrival
Once we have agreed on a puppy, we discuss timing and help you prepare.
Each puppy comes with a puppy kit, pedigree, microchip, health certificate, ownership transfer where applicable, feeding guidance and our continuing support.
Litters are planned well in advance. For the current situation, write to us.
